[BAS 10,015] Chairperson of the Council etc3

(1) The Chairperson shall hold office until the day next preceding the date of the next succeeding general elections, unless he or she resigns or his or her office becomes vacant for any reason.
(2) If the office of the Chairperson becomes vacant for any reason, a general election to elect a successor shall be held as soon as practicable.
(3) The Chairperson or in his or her absence or during a vacancy, a member elected from amongst those present, shall preside at meetings of the Council.
(4) Questions coming before the Council shall be decided by a majority of members in an open vote.
(5) A member shall not vote on any question in which he or she has a pecuniary interest.
